I'm not sure what the exact definition of a speed painting is but for me this was one. I did it in 2 hours. I have to admit it was hard for me not to get in and be OCD about details. Normally I'll work a painting to the point of ruination because I can't leave it alone. I actually feel exhausted and a little sick after finishing a painting because I stress so much over every tiny detail. This was refreshing! It may sound stupid but I challenged myself with this one. I set a time limit of 2 hours to finish it. I decided to focus most of my time/attention on the eyes and lips and leave the rest loose. It didn't mean I was going to post it, only I would have known I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone. But I did it!! And it didn't turn out half bad. You have no idea how proud I am of myself for setting a time limit and walking away when the time was up! So I'm sharing my triumph over my ridiculous obsession with detail with all of you! ______________________________________________________
