Close up found here: [link] For 500 years the 'Keepers of the north' and man warred. When a tremendous loss on both sides drove the great king of the north and the king of man to come to a peaceful agreement, it was decided that the land of elvish people and the land of mankind would be forever separated. So the elven king dropped a veil between the two worlds and made snow bears from the dust of stars to protect the path between the two. And placed a great star in the sky to remind both sides forever of the treaty. The great star stays in the northern sky, and if a man is pure of heart and brave he can follow the snow bears to the pathway and possibly glimpse the glittering elven world on the other side. I totally made that story up. A writer I'm not! The North Star has been used as a navigation aid and to chart navigational maps. It has also been used to measure astronomical latitude. ________________________________________________ Tools Wacom Tablet PSP12 Lots of coffee *I started out with the vision of making an ice castle that looked like glittering icicles but it didn't look right to me. I painted 5 different castles and almost gave up. Then about a week ago I watched a show about glaciers and ice flows. It jumped into my head to make a castle carved from a glacier. So that's how the ice castle came about. Not really that interesting just something I thought I would share. *The IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group reclassified the polar bear as a vulnerable species on the IUCN's Red List of Endangered Species at their most recent meeting (Seattle, 2005). They reported that of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears, five are declining, five are stable, two are increasing, and seven have insufficient data on which to base a decision. On May 14, 2008, the U.S. Department of the Interior reclassified the polar bear as a Threatened Species under the Endangered Species Act, citing concerns about sea ice loss. Canada and Russia list the polar bear as a "species of concern." _______________________________________________ Credits Stunning model used for reference is And link to stock used can be found here: [link] IMPORTANT © COPYRIGHT NOTICE The work contained in my gallery is copyright ©Tammara Markegard. Live as you breathe, free.
Sticks and stones may break some bones but words cause permanent damage.
If they are bad mouthing me behind my back, you better believe they are bad mouthing you behind yours too.

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
