I put this under mixed media because I used brushes. But the rest was painted and textured by me.

This is Maid Marian. I might be weird but I don't picture Maid Marian was a simpering, dress wearing, maid that was worried about getting down with the guys. In my imagination she picked up a bow and arrow and fought with the best of them. She cared for her people enough to fight for them, even if that meant outside the law at times.. She was passionate and strong. Thats my vision of maid Marian, the perfect companion for Robin Hood. In other words......She was kick-ass!:giggle:

:faint: I swear, each piece just takes my breath away... *sigh* How you make her stand out from the bg, giving everything else that slight blur...the light through the trees is so realistic... and the detail...!! :worship:

I think your version of Maid Marian rocks! I would rather imagine her as a bow-slinging, ass-kicking chick rather than the rescue-me-i-am-helpless female. :bleh: Right on.
:iconhorsegal1225:
Everytime I see a new deviation from you they always take my breath away. This is amazing, I love the details from the lighting coming from the trees, the trees themselves, and the trunks, and everything! It's simply gorgeous. Awesome job. Love the colors too.
:icondragondew:
Is awesome as usual!!! Gorgeous.
I read on the internet recently an interesting twist on the Robin Hood story...It's supposed to be true and it's about William Wallace. Apparently William Wallace never married but was seeing a Lady Marion and had a child with her. He also had a band of men that would attack rich English carts on their way around Southern Scotland. He had a man in his band known as Big John, who had a son named Little John and had a friar in his band as well. The theory on this is that the English annoyed by his popularity made up Robin Hood as a hero for themselves. I don't know if it's true or not but it would explain why there is no solid proof of Robin Hood's existence. I still love the story though and your maid Marion is awesome.
