Most households owned a robotic helper known as Nannybots that preformed daily programmed tasks such as shopping, cleaning, cooking, walking the dog and looking after the children. But they were strictly controlled by humans, expressing no human emotion. In a world ravaged by war a handful of surviving scientists were coveted and hidden by fragmented governments in the hopes of the development of technology that could be used to win the war. The Nannybots not destroyed didn’t interest them because they would be as useful to them in war as a vacuum cleaner.

Dr. Hannah Daniels at the threat of harm to her child, developed a prototype of a truly intelligent machine that is able to make its own decisions without constant human oversight. They used a genetically engineered Nanoelectromechanical chip imprinted with her own DNA and secretly placed it in a her daughters Nannybot. Making it very human-like but without weakness to diseases and bio weapons and possessing extreme strength. A second copy of the chip was placed in a charm worn around her neck.

The group of scientists knew their breakthrough would be used to make a superhuman army for war. They also knew this would have ominous consequences to humans farther down the road if the government had control over such technology. To buy themselves time they lied and said the experiment failed.

When they had been betrayed by someone in their small group Hannah placed the charm around her daughter’s neck telling her to never remove it, kissed her goodbye and promised they would see each other again someday. Then told the Nannybot to hide Lyra and protect her at all costs. The Nannybot having a mother’s love for Lyra, left to hide with nothing more than what they could carry and the little girl’s dog.

Yeah I know it’s a stupid story. But I swear I have a great story in my head that I just can’t get out in words. I had fun anyway because I could just make up a bunch of crap.
