The birthplace was protected by a race of Elves that were renowned for their grace and mastery of magic and weapons, and a small army of dragons. Over the year’s the numbers of dragons dropped dramatically because of the rarity of males and the difficulty of the females to conceive. So when a female did give birth it was a time of celebration for both races, but also a time for great vigilance to protect the hatchlings from their enemies.
