Side note: I worked on this between times of working on a book cover for Random House. I may be weird combined with the fact that I have painted wildlife since I was young, but I have always seen people connected with animals. Have always seen their personality and traits as an animals with common personality and traits. Shamans believe that everyone has power animals - animal spirits which reside with each individual adding to their power and protecting them, acting similarly to a guardian angel. The spirit also lends you the wisdom of its kind. So I am going to paint a series of spirit animals for my family. This one is for my son Jeremiah. If you would like one note me with what you feel is your spirit animal and I will try to get them all done. This is just a little fun thing I felt like doing.

Wonderful poem by :iconhillbillygirl: My Spirit Bear        Standing by the water, a bear looks out over the land.  His head held high, he smell for scents of danger.  His eyes are filled with wisdom and secrets untold.  His stance is held with readiness for what may unfold.     Catching my scent, he turns to face me.  Standing on his hind legs, his height seems to touch the sky.  His eyes looking so knowingly at me, he raises one gaint paw.  Too scared to move, I only stand and stare at his eyes.     Standing there, the bear looked to be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.  T Thank you sweetheart, it's wonderful!
